About Colborn Consulting

Founded to Give Owners a Straight Answer.

The Firm

Colborn Consulting is an independent business advisory in Paris, working with privately owned companies, their founders, investors and management teams.

The firm opened with a conviction carried over from years spent inside larger houses: that the quality of advice depends almost entirely on who is doing the thinking. Partners at Colborn Consulting carry engagements themselves and the firm limits how many run at once.

Colborn Consulting holds sector depth in five areas. Much of the work runs through technology and B2B software, financial software companies among them. A comparable share sits elsewhere: an engineering business rethinking how it manufactures, a logistics operator redrawing supply routes after customs arrangements turned a European delivery into a paperwork event, a retailer testing whether its home playbook survives contact with a market that buys differently.

How We Work

Time goes into the numbers, the market and the management team. Then comes a position, stated plainly, with the reasoning behind it and the risks named.

Engagements tend to be shorter and more concentrated than the equivalent piece of work at a large house. That suits owners who need to decide something within a quarter, and management teams who would prefer to spend their attention on execution.

The team you meet in the first week is the team you finish with. It is a small commitment to make and a surprisingly rare one to keep, and it is the reason clients come back to Colborn Consulting with their next question.

The Network Behind the Advice

Colborn Consulting maintains a wide international network and invests continuously in sustaining it. Clients gain access to that reach from the first week of an engagement.

Working With Us

The first meeting is a conversation about the decision you face, with no obligation attached. Within a fortnight of an engagement starting, you will have an early read on the question, including anything the firm has found that changes how it should be framed.
